The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Our children have been enjoying ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ over the past week and have explored a range of different activities; discussing which foods are healthy for us, which give our bodies lots of energy and which foods are unhealthy.

They were particularly interested in how a caterpillar weaves a chrysalis around itself and erupts as a beautiful butterfly – this led to a discussion on symmetry and the children created their own butterfly pictures.

The children have become very good at recalling the details of the story and take great pride when they correctly guess what the Hungry Caterpillar ate next!
